Kinesio Taping (RockTape)

Kinesio Taping is a therapeutic technique that uses specialized tape applied over and around muscles to provide support, improve function, and reduce over-contraction—without restricting range of motion. This allows patients to remain active while receiving functional assistance. In some applications, kinesiology tape can also facilitate lymphatic flow around the clock, helping to reduce swelling and promote recovery. While often used during the acute stage of rehabilitation, it can be beneficial throughout the entire healing process.
Correctional applications may include mechanical support, lymphatic drainage, ligament/tendon assistance, fascial release, space modification, and functional support. Kinesio Taping can also be combined with other therapies such as cryotherapy, massage therapy, hydrotherapy, laser therapy, or electrical stimulation for enhanced results.
At Schlenker Chiropractic, we use RockTape, a high-quality kinesiology tape that stretches more than most brands and sticks securely—even during intense workouts, swimming, or heavy sweating. With 180% elasticity, RockTape allows nearly double its resting length—greater than many other brands—giving patients and athletes superior range of motion.
Although often associated with elite athletes like Serena Williams, Kerri Walsh, and Lance Armstrong, RockTape is effective for a wide range of patients and conditions—not just sports injuries. When applied correctly, it can enhance blood flow, improve form, decrease fatigue, and support overall performance.
