Dr. Jason Schlenker DC, DACBSP

Dr. Schlenker received his Bachelor of Science (B.S) in 2000 from Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa. In the fall of 2003 he entered Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, Oregon. In 2006, he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Doctorate of Chiropractic (D.C) and was named the 2006 Most Outstanding Graduate. After chiropractic school Dr. Schlenker invested an additional 3 years of study to enhance his sports expertise. In 2011, Dr. Schlenker became a Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians (DACBSP), making him one of only 240 chiropractors in the country who have received this elite credential. This knowledge and expertise has made Dr. Schlenker one of the most sought after chiropractic physicians in the area of sports related injuries and rehabilitation.

While in college Dr. Schlenker was a 4 year starter for the Yellowjacket's baseball team, and selected to the Heart of America Athletic Conference(HAAC) All Conference Team for four consecutive years. As a junior and senior he was named First Team All Conference and following an outstanding junior season he was named the 1999 HAAC Pitcher of the year.

Following college Dr. Schlenker played 2 seasons of professional baseball for the Gateway Grizzlies in 2001 and 2002. After the 2001 season he was invited to play winter baseball in Perth, Western Australia for the Victoria Belmont Reds.

In 2011, Dr. Schlenker became the Strength and Exercise Specialist for Oregon Weight Loss Surgery, LLC (OWLS) at Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital. His role is educating the patients about exercise and helping them to implement programs specific to their unique issues and conditions.

Dr. Schlenker has participated in other various sports including football, basketball, wrestling and track/field. Currently Dr. Schlenker is an avid runner and has participated in several long distance relay races including Hood to Coast, Rainier to Pacific and Cascade Lakes.

His experience and interest in sports has led Dr. Schlenker to specialize in this specific area of medicine. While his goal is to prevent sports related injuries, Dr. Schlenker's unique approach emphasizes patient participation and ultimately decreases overall recovery time.
